Client Manager – Family ReTakaful (Actuarial)
Our client, a leading reinsurance organization in Malaysia, is seeking an ambitious and outgoing actuary to fill the role of Client Manager, with a focus on family retakaful business. As a Client Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing relationships with key clients while also applying your actuarial expertise in retakaful pricing. This unique hybrid role offers the opportunity to blend technical pricing skills with client-facing responsibilities, ensuring that our client's solutions meet the evolving needs of the market. While your primary geographical focus will be on Malaysia, there will also be opportunities to engage with clients in Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for family retakaful solutions.
- Understand client needs and collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that align with their objectives.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including brokers and insurers, to drive business growth and enhance client satisfaction.
Reinsurance Pricing
- Apply actuarial expertise to price family retakaful treaties, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
- Analyze market trends, risk factors, and portfolio performance to inform pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the underwriting and product development teams to refine pricing models and methodologies.
Geographical Focus
- Manage client portfolios primarily in Malaysia, with additional exposure to the Indonesian market.
- Stay informed of regional market dynamics and regulatory developments to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Professional actuarial qualifications (e.g., FIA, FSA) not necessary.
- A minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience with a direct insurer / reinsurer.
- Experience with retakaful or takaful products is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Pricing experience, while beneficial, is not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and engage with external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to client management.
